Oscar Predictions (October Edition)

It's mid-October, and the major fall festivals have wrapped up, giving us a clearer view of the contenders and where they stand. At first, it looked like The Odyssey might run away with it all year, but after its terrific festival run, La Bola Negra is looking to give it some fierce competition. Other films have also seemingly established themselves as mainstays in the race; the one to keep an eye on is the unseen Dune Part 3, Denis Villenve's conclusion to his Dune trilogy. If that gets the right reception, watch out for it to pull a "Return of the King" come Oscar night.
