Oscar Predictions (October Edition)

As we look at the state of the Oscar Race post the major fall festivals, the layout of films in contention becomes clearer. We have a good mix of established and respected filmmakers from around the world with a variety of genres to choose from. This could finally be Paul Thomas Anderson's year, with One Battle After Another emerging as the early frontrunner. But I think films like Hamnet, Sinners, and maybe Marty Supreme could give it a run for its money. There seems to be still a lot of confusion about what makes those last slots with several films duking it out for them. So we probably won't have a concrete answer for a couple of months.
